Tour Overview
Once a hunting ground for Europeans in the 1800s, this expansive region is now home to a rich mix of tribes who live together in harmony. While the large game animals have since moved on, the area remains a sanctuary for diverse wildlife, especially bird species.
As you arrive at Kikuletwa Hot Springs, you’ll be greeted by a hidden oasis surrounded by sprawling fig trees—an unexpected paradise in the heart of a semi-arid landscape. Crystal-clear waters bubble up from underground caves, creating the illusion of boiling, which gives rise to its nickname, the “Hot Springs.”
The warm, turquoise waters are perfect for a refreshing swim. Bring your bathing suit and relax under the shade of the trees while enjoying the soothing natural pool. After a laid-back picnic lunch in this tranquil setting, we’ll begin our return to Moshi. The journey back takes us along quiet gravel roads, past the scenic Kilavu River and sprawling sugarcane fields, arriving in Moshi by late afternoon.
